Back before time began, the Robotics Ph.D. Program was chaired by a benevolent beurocrat, our pedagogue and friend, Steve Shafer. Since then Steve has moved on to perhaps bigger, perhaps better, but certainly different things, and is working for Microsoft. Before he left, however, he gave one last commandment:If you should ever get a new lounge, then you can drop some cash on something and I'll pay for it.And, lo, in time, we got a new RoboLounge, and it is the lounge that we all know and love on the ground level (second floor!) of Building D.
