The Snackbot project is a collaboration between The Robotics Institute and the Human Computer Interaction Institute to develop a social mobile robot designed to travel the hallways of CMU and deliver food items ordered by the occupants of the offices. We are studying the problems of multi-sensor fusion for human detection and recognition, three-dimensional object learning and recognition, and the use of user preferences/history to guide social interaction.
