Abstract

The fundamental quantities of mechanics are usually taken to be mass, length, and time [Sedrs82]. Given the ability to measure length, in this caSe the distance between a reference point on a robot and its surroundings, this thesis describes a method for combining distance measurements into a 2D model of a robot's workspace.
