Project Description
Carnegie Mellon Digital Press - A full service document scanning and Web publishing in one easy step.
Service Description:
- Efficient, high quality scanning and publication of customer documents to the Web
- Controlled access to Web published documents via password-protected user accounts, and "Document Group" enabling
- Full text Search capability for quick access to targeted text within document contents
Service Details:
- Professional, high quality scanning of reports, periodicals, class assignments, course-related text books, etc.
- Web publication and distribution via an integrated scan server system
- Integration of state of the art OCR for exacting text identification
- Full text search capability of scanned images
- Access via Web by password-protected user accounts and document groups
- Medium - Scan both black and white and color documents up to size "B", as well as 35MM microfilm, and slides
Advantages:
- Quick turn-around of hard copy document submitted, to published document on the Web
- Provides database server storage of published documents on 24 / 7 basis
- Ability to add as many customer Documents Groups as needed
- Each Document Group contains documents related only to that unique group
- Document Group keeps published documents segregated from other unrelated information
- Inexpensive method of quickly publishing documents to the Web
