Project Description

ATLAS is a DAML-based agent advertising language that will enable agents and devices to locate each other and interoperate. ATLAS development objectives include DAML ontologies that describe agent capabilities, service parameters, middle-agent services, and security mechanisms; ontologies for describing both static and dynamic documents such as web-based data query portals; tools that support the creation, modification, and application of DAML-encoded information; formalisms for describing agent capabilities and parameters, and for querying agents; ontologies for agent services and interoperation between separate agent communities; and matching algorithms for identifying DAML-based agent services.
