I am interested in dynamic perception for robotic manipulation. My research goal is to tightly integrate computer vision with manipulation, bridging these two fields with task-specific vision algorithms that extract high-level knowledge of vision for each particular manipulation task. I currently am the primary computer vision researcher on the Personal Robotics project at Intel Research Pittsburgh. Our goal is the creation of a robot able to operate in a household environment. My research interests are in vision for manipulation, active sensing, object recognition, and sensor fusion.
