I'm interested in applying cognitive science research to robotics research and vice versa. At the moment I'm working on developing rudimentary vision-based localization and mapping systems for Sony's Aibo dog robot, and once that's taken care of I'll be exploring how to best allocate the Aibo's single snout camera to fulfill the demands of all the diverse processes that need it. With luck, both tasks will be done with attention given to biological plausibility, not to mention the unique and limited resources and constraints of the Aibo platform. |
