Research interests

My research interests are in the areas of computer vision, mobile robot navigation, and human-computer interaction. I am working on statistical human shape modeling, human detection and body part identification. One of the applications of my work is to give drivers early warning of potential collision with detected pedestrians. Other applications include smart human-computer communication and the visual surveillance.

Research interest keywords

computer vision, human-computer interaction, image processing, mobile robots, object recognition, and stereo vision

Additional Interests and Responsibilities

I am maintaining the CMU/VASC Image Database.

Past Labs & Groups

NavLab - Autonomous Vehicles and Driver Assistance

Past Projects

Side Collision Warning System for Transit Buses - To develop a warning system which helps a driver of a transit bus to avoid side collisions with pedestrians, other vehicles, or stationary objects.
