| Biography |
Shuntaro Yamazaki received his B.Sc. (1999) and M.Sc. (2001) in information science, and Ph.D. (2004) in computer science from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. He is a full-time researcher at the Digital Human Research Center in the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Tokyo, Japan. His research interests include computer vision, graphics, and its applications. He is a member of the IEEE Computer Society and ACM.

My research interests are in the area of the 3D scene modeling, image processing and computer graphics. My current project is on image-based scene modeling using volume representation. The current target of modeling is individual human hair for the purpose of photorealistic image synthesis, although we can generalize the method to a broader scope.
