Research interests
My research is focused on providing surgical guidance to surgeons using intraoperative to preoperative data fusion incorporated into 3-D and 2-D computer graphics. My work is primarily used in the Image Overlay surgical guidance systems that are being developed in conjunction with the Institute for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital.

Past Projects
-
3D Image Overlay - X-ray vision has always been the dream of surgeons; Image
Overlay is the next best thing.
-
Hip Navigation System - Preoperative and intraoperative planning and execution system for high-precision total hip replacement.
-
Knee Navigation Systems (KneeNav TKR/ACL) - We are developing two CT-based surgical navigation systems for total knee replacement and ACL reconstructive surgery.
