Research interests

I am interested in dynamic systems, most particularly, the modeling, simulation, and control of dynamic systems. I am also interested in the related problem of sensor fusion, particularly the problem of combining all known information about a system (its dynamics, its sensor dynamics, knowledge of its environment, etc.) to optimally estimate its states. I am most interested in these areas in the context of real world robotics applications.

I am also interested in using computer graphics to solve problems, particularly to enhance the analysis, comprehension, and communication of complex data.

Research interest keywords

computer graphics, control, data visualization, and sensor fusion

Past Projects

As-Built Survey Project - We are investigating the real-time monitoring of construction sites.
Autonomous Agricultural Spraying - We are developing ground-based vehicles for pesticide application.
Autonomous Loading System - Developing technologies to improve the productivity and reduce the cost of mass excavation.
Demeter - The Demeter project is developing a next-generation self-propelled hay harvester for agricultural operations.
Underground Mining Operator Assist - Automating the functions of a continuous mining machine and roof bolting units.
