I am interested in both design and control of anthropomorphic end effectors for dexterous manipulation tasks. What sensors, physical mechanisms, controls, and planning do these mechanisms need to have in order to perform different tasks? Beyond the theoretical, can the system actually be made to perform a wide variety of tasks?

• Biorobotics - Conducting motion planning research for snake robots, mobile robots, and actuator arrays, mainly geared for scenarios where the robot does not have a priori knowledge of the world.
• Neurobotics Laboratory - Investigating neural control of movement, brain-machine interface, and devices for rehabilitation, motor enhancement, and entertainment.

• Anatomically Correct Testbed (ACT) Hand - We are building a dynamic model of the human hand that is anatomically correct.
