Research interests

Millions of people around the world suffer from chronic conditions like diabetes. I am interested in creating intelligent assistants that can help individuals manage these conditions. An intelligent diabetes assistant should be able to simplify data collection for the patient, increase communication with care-providers, and process the data to identify significant patterns and behaviors.

Research interest keywords

image processing, machine learning, medical applications, medical robotics, pattern recognition, and statistics

Current Labs & Groups

NavLab - Autonomous Vehicles and Driver Assistance

Current Projects [Past projects]

Intelligent Diabetes Assistant - We are working to create an intelligent assistant to help patients and clinicians work together to manage diabetes at a personal and social level. This project uses machine learning to predict the effect that patient specific behaviors have on blood glucose.
