Research interests

I'm interested in the edge between hardware and software. While current silicon designs work well for classical computational problems, what goals other than pure mathematical throughput and informational bandwidth are useful for A.I. kinds of problems?

I'm also interested in the same kinds of problems in the operating systems domain. What kind of support from an operating system is useful in real world robotic applications?

Research interest keywords

data visualization, image processing, machine learning, and mobile robots

Current Labs & Groups

NavLab - Autonomous Vehicles and Driver Assistance

Past Projects

Simultaneous Localization and Mapping with Detection, Tracking, and Classification of Moving Objects - We are developing the algorithms to solve Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) and Detection, Tracking and Classification of Moving Objects (DTCMO) problems for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Transit Bus Collision Warning Systems - Research and integration of side and front collision warning systems for transit buses.
