Recreating these small, deceivingly complex details of everyday reality is important for constructing virtual worlds that are faithful to perceptions of the real world. A lot of math, physics, and computer theory are inherent in this challenge, but so is poetry, says Adrien Treuille, assistant professor of computer science and robotics.
