05.15.2007 A You Tube account has been set up to help promote the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute and School of Computer Science. Brian will be the account administrator posting videos, detailed descriptions and links back to individual project pages. The number of views can be tracked, comments can be monitored, and the RI will be able to see who is linking to and sharing our videos. Ultimately, the goal is be the You Tube subscription of choice to learn about the field of robotics and computer science. |

05.08.2007 The music video premiered at the Regent Square Theater in Pittsburgh, PA on May 8, 2007. It was co-directed by Brian Staszel and Patrick Kent and features the band Shade playing their song "Rivals Place". View a large, high-quality QuickTime 7 video on Brian's personal page. |

01.03.2007 Brian's team entered a contest with 160 other teams across the country who had to conceive, write, shoot, edit and score a short video over the course of a weekend. Only 140 or so finished and the Pittsburgh team made the top 15. View the video here. |

02.05.2004 The animation that has been effective in communicating the MSE program to students and industry was part of this year's Pittsburgh AIGA 100 show. The Master of Software Engineering Program premiered
their new Flash presentation in Boston this week to an audience of international
students. The presentation was received well and plans have been made to
take copies of the CD-ROM to Russia later next month to promote and recruit
for
the program. |

05.15.2003 A film by Brian Staszel and Max Hurwitz was screened at the 5th Anniversary Film Kitchen event last May. The film went on to be featured in the Three Rivers Arts Festival screening at the Harris Theater downtown. The odd little film met the requirements: Be less than 4 minutes in length and feature a kitchen. |

02.08.2003 Among the festivities for SCS Day 2003 was a gallery of artistic works and films and video created by staff, faculty and students within the School of Computer Science. Debbie Tobin was awarded "Best of Show" for her illustration titled "The Leopard". |

02.06.2003 The Flash animation that had been received so well by
recruiters for IBM and Microsoft, had the honor of being included in the
American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Pittsburgh 100 Show. A total
of 100 exceptional
items were selected from all categories: Print, Broadcast and Interactive
to represent the best design work being done in the Pittsburgh region. |
